Bringing comfort and dignity at the end of life’s journey
St. Boniface Hospital is home to Canada’s first palliative care program.
Launched in 1974, the program focuses on protecting the dignity, easing the suffering, and preserving the overall quality of life of those who are reaching the end of life.
The program is housed on the Hospital’s eighth floor in a stunning, well-appointed setting furnished largely by donors. Fifteen private rooms offer comfort and space for patients and their families. The program also manages an outpatient component to help people remain at home while under the care of the palliative care system.
Donations designated to the program help keep fixtures, furnishing, and equipment up to date.
