Albrechtsen Research Centre’s social committee gives back
The Albrechtsen Research Centre’s social committee started out as a fun way to connect fellow researchers on the St. Boniface Hospital campus in the early 1990s. Now, the committee is dedicated to doing good on and off campus, donating proceeds from their fun events to the Foundation, as well as to other community organizations.
Established by Dr. Foerster, the committee’s aim has not only been to create social connections between staff, but to also facilitate collaboration on research projects. Now led by Dr. Pierce, the committee helps build community, keep morale up, and pull staff together.
The committee is a voluntary group with staff representatives from administration, research, and support services throughout the Centre. Each year, they coordinate a variety of events, including barbeques, staff parties during the holidays, and fundraising events like the Arts & Science Craft Sale and the annual Stroke for Stroke golf tournament.
Every year, a portion of sales from raffle draws at these events is donated to the Foundation. We are so grateful for the support of everyone at the Albrechtsen Research Centre!
