100,000 thank you's to the Sons of Italy!

100,000 thank you's to the Sons of Italy!

St-Boniface Hospital Foundation expresses its deepest appreciation to the Order of Sons of Italy, Garibaldi Lodge for its $100,000 donation to the Canadian Italian Tissue Engineering Laboratory (CITEL) Campaign. The cheque was presented to the Foundation this past Saturday, March 16,  at the Sons of Italy 27th Annual Gala.

The Canada Italy Tissue Engineering Laboratory (CITEL) is a partnership between St-Boniface Hospital and the University of Roma Tor Vergata in Rome, Italy, which will promote the exchange of information and collaboration between researchers from the two institutes. Heart disease is the leading cause of death worldwide. CITEL aims to change that by applying regenerative cardiology technology developed in Rome, to heart failure models currently being examined at St-Boniface Hospital. The $100,000 donation from the Sons of Italy will help establish a laboratory at St-Boniface Hospital for the two cardiac research teams to work from.

Thank you!

Thank you!

Thanks to the support of our sponsors, partners, and conference speakers, Heart of a Woman was a sold out success! On Thursday, March 7, 2013, more than 350 women and health care providers gathered at the Winnipeg Convention Centre to learn about cardiovascular disease and the best ways to prevent, diagnose and treat this critical health issue in women.

Thank you to our Presenting Sponsor, The Asper Foundation, who partnered with St-Boniface Hospital Foundation to raise awareness for cardiovascular disease in memory of Babs Asper.

Special thank you also to WOW! Hospitality Concepts, Hilary Druxman, 99.9 BOB FM's Dez Daniels, the Winnipeg Convention Centre, our media partners and our gift-in-kind-sponsors.

Keep posted for photos from the event!
