Leo Mol sculpture donated to the hospital

Leo Mol sculpture donated to the hospital

Leo Mol sculpture of two wrestling bear cubs was recently installed outside near the main entrance to the hospital. Dr. Sat Sharma, who kindly donated the sculpture hopes patients and staff will enjoy the artwork for years to come: " I wanted to give something back to St. Boniface Hospital to show my gratitude. I came to the hospital in 1990 to train in respiratory medicine and critical care. As soon I finished my training, I was offered a staff position. Later on, I had an opportunity to advance my career and actually become head of my department not only at St. B. but also at Health Sciences Centre and University of Manitoba. I received the best education in my speciality at St. B. and spent best years of my career and life at the hospital. Since I loved Winnipeg and the art created locally; naturally I had been Leo Mol's fan for years. Some years ago I had an opportunity to acquire Leo's art work and actually appreciated it every day for seven years. That's why I thought I gift hospital something I enjoyed so much and hope others at the hospital will do so too."

Generosity in full flow at Winnipeg school

Generosity in full flow at Winnipeg school

Students in grade three and four at Constable Edward Finney School, in Winnipeg, raised $315 for St-Boniface Hospital Foundation in response to the flood and subsequent closing of fourteen operating rooms at St-Boniface Hospital in January 2014. The idea came to young Farnaaz while she watched the evening news with her family, as she does every night. “I saw that St-Boniface Hospital had to cancel operations because there was water all over the floor in the operating rooms. I told my parents I wanted to raise some money to help the hospital.” Click here for more.
